Well our winning streak was halted at 1. What to do now? We could bitch a moan that all we’ve got is a lump of coal from Lo-totti and co. We could even cling to the win that shocked the world after 3 months and 6 days of torture against Genoa a week prior. My stance will be as positive and uplifting as possible:
Yes we lost to leaders Inter, but not by much. The formation wasn’t overly atrocious for a change as the extra wing backs add for a great type of counter-attacking in waves. Of course this requires skilled players to execute this. I won’t say we don’t have these players in our arsenal but I can’t say speaking from our results that we have them either.
Pride certainly comes before the fall. Well this fall lasted 13 games prior to last Sunday’s encounter. Though I doubt we’ll go winless for another 13 games the winter break couldn’t come soon enough. A midfield full of injured, suspended or just frozen out players is one headache I won’t mind not having to deal with for 2 weeks. Of course technically we could always have relied on a certain Argentinean midfielder to fill the void but Mr. Scrooge has kept him from helping this team fill the void. The Pandev saga continues at least for another fortnight. Personally whatever the outcome maybe this legal trouble that’s once again scared our clubs name and history couldn’t end soon enough. Let’s just move on. And now this stomach churning news about Julio Cruz rethinking his move to Lazio? Are you serious? Can I just ask something: Surely you can’t be thinking of going to another club because retirement needs to be the only thought right now. This could be such a blessing that somewhere there is a clause where we can mutually cut ties with this overpaid pylon. But the best gift of all is that we don’t have to see an expressionless bozo with a toque too big for his narrow minded head of Davide Ballardini. Ballardini? Seriously? Your still our coach? Don’t you feel any shame man?
I guess Lotito is a selective scrooge with certain things, when referring to keep Ballardini through the holidays. Would someone in Rome with intelligence please stand up! Here we have 2 weeks to rest, recover and refocus on part 2 of the campaign. Surely D.B has had his fair shake at this squad. It’s worked as well as my nonno (grandfather) trying to buy a rabbit from the humane society and trying to convince them that he’s buying it for his grandson as a pet and not to have it slaughtered for Christmas dinner, but such is life. How this guy is still in charge is beyond me and this universe. Coaches across the peninsula keep finding the axe yet somehow we’ve decided now is the time to be different. F@C! Me! Our staff is really, really, really, unintelligent. What better time to implement a change-over of guard on the bench then now? Let the new guy meet the players on Dec. 28 on the return from the holidays. Get a few weeks to put their stamp on the team. There’s no way it could get any worse than this with someone new calling the shots. We can only wait, hope, and pray a lot that such a Christmas present can be granted. We’ll worry our little heads about the transfer market in the upcoming weeks and break-down player-by-player performances for 2009 in the days to come. For now have yourselves a merry little Christmas with nothing but the best wishes unless your name is Claudio Lotito. I hope your furbo little mind and big mouth get a rude visit from the Ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future! Buon Natale a tutti!

The storm that has been brewing is gathering apace. We are all waiting on the fallout.
Until then, there is little anyone can do.
We’re all helpless to the demise engraved by Lotito. Is our fate sealed? Maybe, but there’s still time for an assassination attempt!
